Competitions Explained

The Society runs seven internal league competitions and all members are encouraged to enter. Competitions are split into print competitions and digital image competitions (DPI).  Each competition has separate colour and Monochrome sections. There are four 'open' competitions, which mean that any subject matter can be entered. There is always a set subject round and a panel of three, where three related images are submitted that form a panel.

Members are awarded points for entering and being placed in competitions. The members with the most points at the end of the year will receive a trophy.

Near the end of the season there is a Photo of the Year competition with trophies to be won for Colour prints, Monochrome prints and Digital images.  At Christmas we have a social get together which always incorporates an Enprint and Photo-essay competition.

For results, rules and information regarding all these competitions please see the other sections of the competitions tab.  Information regarding preparation of  files for digital entries is included in the rules
